Bon voyage

Hi everyone,
It's a week from today when I leave! I am excited, nervous, and scared, all in one. I am ready to begin this journey and can not wait to see what God does! I leave out of DFW Monday, June 2nd at 12:15 p.m. I will fly to New York and at 6:30 p.m. depart for Brussels, Belgium. At 8:05 a.m. on June 3rd I will leave from Belgium for Kigali, Rwanda. I will be traveling with Don and Claire Brown. Don is the father of Christy and Claire is the sister. The total flight will take us around two days.
I also thought I would give background information on Rwanda. Rwanda is in Central Africa and the capital is Kigali where I will be staying. The languages spoken are English, French, and Kinyarwanda. This is perfect because in high school I took three years of French. Kigali is modern so there are computers, running water, and electricity.
I will be staying with missionaries Brian and Christy Dolinger. Brian is the principal of the Kigali International Community School. Christy is working to establish a public library. They just had a new baby boy in April. I will work with Brian in the schools and get first hand experience of what my life would be if I was a self-supporting missionary through teaching over-seas. I will work with the local Church, hopefully being an encouragement and doing whatever is helpful. Also, Christy plans on taking me to the market. They will take me to see the mud huts and the orphanage. Another exciting thing I will get to do is go on an expedition to see the gorillas. I will get to see them up close and in the jungle.
I have bought all my supplies. Its recommended to buy a special trunk for the journey. I wondered why since this trunk does not have wheels. When I asked, I was told I could take my luggage with wheels but it probably would not have wheels when it returned because the African airports are so rough. I am taking supplies to Brian and Christy. A big treat to them is Oreos and Velveeta. I am so thankful for this opportunity. It has already been a blessing seeing God work. I can not wait to see what He does while I am over there. Please pray for safety throughout the trip. Please pray for patience for all of us since this will be new to Don, Claire, and me. Please pray for our faith to remain strong. Thank you for all you have done! I love you all!
In Him,
Whitney :)
"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth. Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28: 18-20
